On Wednesday 13th June 5 Year 8 learners from Connah’s Quay High School, Grace Mead, Faith Randles, Hanna Szakacs, Francessca Maddocks-Simpson and Olivia Smith competed against other High School teams from across Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham working on a STEM project called Go4SET at the Airbus Broughton site. The team needed to complete a 20 hour period to develop an Eco Factory. This involved researching and analysing a suitable area, developing a design, manufacturing a scale model and presenting their solution of the Eco Factory to a panel of judges. Yesterday they won the Innovative Thinking Award and all achieved a Bronze Crest Award from Industrial Cadets which is a recognised Engineering Qualification endorsed by HRH Prince Charles.
