Admissions
Connah’s Quay High School admissions arrangements are administered by the Local Education Authority. Full details of these arrangements are outlined in the publication “Flintshire Schools Admission Arrangements” which is issued to all parents of primary school learners in the year before transfer.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEW LEARNERS AND PARENTS TO VISIT THE SCHOOL
We have an Open Evening in the Autumn term to give parents and their child the opportunity to view the school and to meet with staff and learners. For parents unable to attend the Open Evening, appointments can be made to visit the school and receive additional information.

In the Summer Term prior to transfer, steps are taken to ease the transition from primary to high school. Connah’s Quay High School staff visit primary schools to meet with Year 6 learners. The School’s Additional Needs Co-ordinator who will also meet with learners with additional needs. Learners are also invited to spend time in Connah’s Quay High School towards the end of the Summer Term prior to transfer, with additional visits arranged for children with additional needs if appropriate. This time is spent getting to know some of the staff with whom they will be associated in September, touring the new school and taking part in lessons and other activities.
NEW LEARNERS IN OTHER YEAR GROUPS
Where parents wish their child to be admitted at times other than at the beginning of Year 7, they are asked to contact Flintshire County Council (School Admissions). Arrangements will be made for parents to meet the Headteacher.
